BEWARE OF GREENWASHING
Many companies will market their products as “green”, “eco-friendly” or “natural” – but in fact these are meaningless terms that fool buyers into thinking they are using sustainable products. As such, it’s not always easy to identify clean products and make the best decisions.
FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT THE PRODUCTS YOU’RE BUYING
Third-party certification takes the guesswork out of the products you purchase. Recognizable third-party logos avoid wasting time to investigate whether a product claim is truthful. Certifications define and quantify green claims and demonstrate that the product has met multiple environmental criteria.
Green Seal, EcoLogo and FSC are some of the logos to look for, as they ensure products are not harmful and do not damage the environment.
Swish distributes the largest number of certified green products compared to any other company in Canada.
